The weatherforecast was not promising for Peita & Paul’s wedding day. The location was Dawes Point Reserve, right on the harbour foreshore and just under the shadow of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Somehow, despite some spectacular storm clouds right overhead during both cermony and photo shoot, the torrential downpour held off until all were safely inside the reception venue (The Waterfront Restaurant in The Rocks).

Yesterday was a photographer’s dream…..a bride that looked simply stunning, surrounded by her gorgeous entourage, a groom that was not in the least bit camera-shy and a 1958 Chevy Bel Air that this photographer fell in love with. All of which was topped off with a ceremony held at one of the very best locations in Sydney, The Gunner’s Barracks at Chowder Bay. It boasts a wait of over two years for those of you that would like to get married there on a weekend. The harbourscape views of our beautiful city are about as all-encompassing as any that I know - it was one of the best “offices” that I have had the pleasure of working in.

Photographing a wedding in the heart of the best city in the world is a fantastic job. Phil & Sarah chose to get married at St Bridgids Church in The Rocks. The Church itself whilst quite dark inside, produced some wonderful naturally lit shots. After the ceremony, we headed up to Observatory Hill and then strolled around the area stopping along the way at a couple of favourite locations.

The reception was at the Quay Restaurant which not only produces stunning food but provides a panoramic harbour vista from which to enjoy it. Phil & Sarah, thanks very much for the invitation to stay for the reception - I had a great time! I hope you like the images……

Eling Forest Winery in the Southern Highlands was the venue for Natalie & Martin’s Wedding. A truly fantastic location which was blessed with the sunniest of afternoons for the ceremony itself.

The wedding was a relatively small intimate affair held in the Winery’s Rose Garden. Most of the guests took the sensible option of staying locally so as to maximise their enjoyment of the local produce. No such luck for the wedding photographer who had to drive back to Sydney later that evening!
